We wanted to say "Thanks" for setting us up for a great trip on the James River last month. We came out from Virginia Beach for a few days of fun and fishing. Even with the river at fairly low levels, we had a great time. The weather was nearly perfect and fishing was great! Everyone at the James River Basin Canoe Livery was very friendly and helpful making the experience that much better. We have attached a photo of one of the several 15"+ smallmouth bass we caught. We hope you can find a place for it on your website. The angler is D. B. "Clem" Brown. The 15.5" smallmouth slammed the black yamamoto Clem offered on his first cast of the day! Clem was fishing a hole below a riffle between Arcadia and Alpine. Look at that grin! Thanks again and see you next year. - Spud, Clem, JBird & Shark

Have lived in Rockbridge County for the last 23 years, and last Sunday was the first time we took advantage of your services. It will not be the last. My wife and I took the trip from Alpine to Glasgow and had a ball. It was our first time in a canoe and with your instruction session and diagrams of the river we felt very comfortable during the entire four hours. We made some new friends from Alabama and topped off the day showing them Lexington, and having dinner at a local restaurant. Will call you in the near future to book other trips. Thanks for all your help - Sincerely, Brian & Doris Fredricksen

The instructional briefing and video preview you all give is most helpful. We've been to other outfitters that just put us on the river without any preparation. The one time a map was supplied, the details and explanations were so vague we had no clue where we were on the river. Congratulations on a top notch job!! - M.L., Charlotte, North Carolina

The assistance you have provided the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation has been helpful in developing our position on MIF [minimum instream flows] for the Maury River. [We] are most appreciative of your time and effort...when you not only provided us with the equipment for the trip but also accompanied us down the river. The video tape will be very helpful in verifying the flows which we will consider in our recommendations to the State Water Control Board. -J.D., Department of Conservation and Recreation, Richmond, Virginia Trip B

We just returned from our river trip and wanted to drop you a line to tell you what a great time we had. The distance of the trip; your valuable assistance and the scenery made for a great time. The thunderstorms the first night gave way to beautiful weather. You run a nice operation. We were glad to have shared the experience. - E.S. and P.R., New Jersey and New York
